ANNOUNCEMENT – LIVE CAMERA FEED ROLL-OUT

Usk Valley Ospreys is delighted to announce, with assistance from Welsh Government and Wildlife Windows, the release of a live camera feed of the Talybont-on-Usk osprey nest for all to enjoy.

You will be aware that screenshots from the nest-cam have appeared on the ‘News’ page of the website all summer, and these have been warmly received. Trained Watchers have provided invaluable monitoring of the pair via the nest-cam since April, date from which will contribute to an ‘end-of-season’ report.

We recognise that it is late in the season. The new ‘live feed’ page will be a permanent addition to the website, and therefore after the birds depart in September, short video clips of 2024 highlights will continue to be screened and refreshed regularly through the off-season. Live screening of the birds is expected to resume in March 2025.

Taking this step comes with increased financial cost and therefore a new ‘Just Giving’ facility has been included on the ‘Donate’ page (see above) – if you have enjoyed contact with these impressive birds over the summer then please consider providing a donation.
