MORE VIDEO CLIPS OF 2024 NEST ACTIVITY

As tension mounts over the reappearance of ospreys to the Gilestone nest, which could be any time soon, we hope you'll enjoy some more clips of nest activity. These are now available at “View the Birds” on the Usk Valley Ospreys website (click on the red arrow to access). Seven new early-season scenarios, complete with compelling descriptions, highlight the fascinating behaviours of these magnificent birds; 'takeaway fish meals', mating, mantling, apparent tolerance in dealing with presumptuous intruders, imposter behaviours to mention just a few.

We continue to hope this provides the 'fix' before the real thing.

2025 Camera Refinements

With the 2025 season in mind, UVO with continuing partners Welsh Government and Wildlife Windows have this week re-installed the nest-camera from 2024, fitted a support and new cup-camera, and improved arrangements to ducting and cabling that will improve reliability of images and live-streaming should the area suffer summer flooding.
